Our 7 year old has begun to write music. There isn’t much theory behind her music yet. But you have to start somewhere. Maybe she will write some for Taylor Swift one day.

So, this weekend I am in Bar Harbor Maine. I will be partaking in the Mount Desert Island Marathon. I have never been much of a runner, (I’ve never really seen the point of running for hours) however, if you give me a basketball I can play for hours.
My mother originally signed up a three person relay team to run the event. Unfortunately, my mother contracted Lyme’s disease and was unable to train or run her portion of the marathon. I received a phone call at the end of August, she asked me if I would consider replacing her. I didn’t really commit until until the beginning of September. Since then I have been jogging/walking 7-9 miles about 2 to 3 times a week. It has been the most I have EVER run in my LIFE. I have to say that I have enjoyed the solitude of the treadmill in the late evening and early morning. So, when the run is over. I just my continue this trend I have started.
This morning I was having our six year old wipe down our kitchen counter. While doing so she managed to knock over this vase of Gladiolus blossoms. Normally they would have fallen to the flower, but this time she actually caught the vase and only spilled a little water. Needless to say daddy was impressed by how quickly she reacted.
Here are some pictures of our 5 and 1/2 hour ascent up Mount Katahdin. Its the highest point(5,270 feet or 1606 m) in the great State of Maine. It is either the starting or ending point of the Appalachian Trail. It was definitely the most difficult hike that I have been involved with. Only for the amount of boulders that we had to climb to reach the summit. I would definitely climb it again. I don’t have any pictures of our 6 1/2 hour descent do to the fact that our descent was in the RAIN!!!
For our Saturday night fun I had the girls play with some Sparklers, which were leftover from the 4th. I was able to take some Long Exposure shots of them spinning and twirling around. I even jumped in on the fun. We had such a great time!!! Hope you enjoy!!!
I like the ghostly effect of the girls in some of the pictures.
I was locking up tonight at work, and I noticed a rainbow. I go outside to take a look and its a complete rainbow. There was also a second one not as bright, but still pretty cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two complete rainbows together. Of course I was caught without my camera. Thank goodness for camera phones.
