This pictures are from a few weeks ago, when my brother and I climbed the High Dune in the Great Sand Dunes National Park. If you ever get the chance to come and visit, I highly recommend climbing the Dune. Its a lot of work but a lot of fun. It took us about 90 minutes to reach the summit, and 10 minutes to come down.

Just incredible pictures…I see warmth in those smiling brothers!
Great pics!! That had to have been tough to climb! Great job!!
Nice photos! I drove by the Dunes often with my family headed to camping trips when I was a kid. My Dad never would stop at the Dunes. Seeing your pictures makes me want to revisit the area!
… love this place. Haven’t been in years. Thanks for the post.
Whereabouts are The Dunes ? Looks very impressive.
In the San Luis Valley of Colorado.
Thanks. I have never been to the States before , so my knowledge of the Dunes was lacking.:)
About 20-25 mins outside of Alamosa, CO
Miles not minutes
been there, done that!!! you and your brother could be twins!! 🙂
Climbing a sand dune is incredibly hard and slow-going. My family tried climbing a sand dune in 1986 at the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. We laughed ourselves silly when we got six feet in 15 minutes. It’s a great memory to have!
I’ve always wanted to climb a sand dune. It seems like it would be such a rewarding experience. Great photographs!
thank you. it was totally fun. definitely recommend it
