Try picking up photography as a way to gain some focus and direction in your life. Whether you enjoy taking pictures, or just looking at them, you can learn to appreciate things in life which you may only get a chance to see once. A good photograph can speak volumes to its viewers.
Don’t let your picture-taking technique get too complicated. You can frequently take an outstanding photograph without making any adjustments for color, light, motion or any other technical elements.
Try to enhance the sense of depth in your landscape photos. Get a sense of scale by having a person or object placed in the foreground. If you set a small aperture, one that is not greater than f/8 (for many digital cameras that are made for consumers), or f/16 (on a full-frame SLR) you will notice that your foreground and background look sharp.

That’s why I enjoy taking photos with my little Fuji camera–so simple–I depend on my vision to capture the vision!
there is nothing wrong with that…yes it can be overwhelming and I am still learning how to operate my camera. Its a fun challenge.
I’m actually going to “move up” to my son’s Rebel T1I camera and do some larnin’ . 🙂 Enjoying the challenge….
