Traveling to PDX

Today our little family will be traveling to the Portland, OR and than to Vancouver, WA for the weekend. We will be visiting one of my wife’s cousins and her family. They will be taking us to the Oregon coast one day, and I’m sure we will also check out Multnomah Falls. However, I’m looking for some suggestions on where I can take some cool Photos. If you have any knowledge of the area and can help that would be awesome.

  1. Enjoy! Portland and Vancouver are some of my favorite places to see in Oregon πŸ™‚ I’ll be visiting cousins & family in Hillsboro on Saturday (east of PDX).

  2. Have fun in my backyard! If you can stay at the coast for sunset, hike and scramble around Cape Kiwanda (south of Tillamook) and you’ll get a great sunset. Also, on the way up to Mult. Falls take the old highway (turn off at Corbett and go up the hill). You’ll pass a great pic of Crown Point. If you hike up Wahkeena trail (before you get to Multnomah), you’ll come to a great little waterfall right on the trail called Fairy Falls. That’s three great photo opps.!

    1. Went to the falls two years ago. Got some great photos then promptly either gave the camera back to who it belonged to without getting them off first or something. The photos are gone. We need to go back.

  3. Also, the international rose test garden is near downtown Portland (on the hillside west of downtown). A lot of the architecture in the Pearl (downtown) is cool – a mix of old and very modern. Also, don’t forget Powell’s book, though I don’t know if cameras are allowed inside. Plus, lots of great views of Mt. Hood. Downtown Portland is a place just to wander with your camera – interesting people, quickly decorations/architecture.

      1. excellent! I realized they also had the “World Naked Bike Ride” going through the city while you were there. Not sure about friendly to photographers that would be!
