Life: A Scot in Norway

Even though the weather was a bit overcast today I took a trip out to the suburban area to the north known as Eidsvåg.  Two miles from where the majority of these photos were taken one can indulge in sea-fishing whilst listening to the whoosh of traffic rush to and from the city centre on a four-lane motorway.

Or one can just switch off and enjoy one of the many lakes which are free to explore within the city boundaries of Bergen and imagine one is miles from civilisation…

After walking through about two kilometres of unpromising industrial areas including Diplom-Is (a giant ice-cream manufacturer) and an electricity sub-station (doubtless connected to a very green Hydro-electric scheme – don’t you just love Norway) one finally comes to a wooded area which rapidly gives way to a treeless highway giving views out over the head of the valley which is…
